The Farmer’s Mindset for Life & Leadership

A book about growing what truly matters.

Written by Kenny Eng, a fourth-generation farmer and entrepreneur, Grounded shares how the quiet wisdom of farming can help us live, lead, and build with more purpose, patience, and resilience.

Farmers don’t force growth. They tend the conditions that make it possible. This book is about learning to do the same — in your work, and in your life.

Rooted by Family, Shaped by Experience

This book began in soil. Kenny grew up in a fourth-generation horticulture family in Singapore, surrounded by the quiet lessons of Nyee Phoe — patience, resilience, and the long view.

But Grounded is not written from heritage alone.

It is shaped by his own journey: building Gardenasia, working with farmers in Singapore and beyond, and creating The Local Farm to support farmers through fair trade, sustainable demand, and community impact.

Along the way, Kenny began to see that farming is more than an industry. It is a way of thinking.

A way of staying rooted.
A way of preparing before problems arrive.
A way of growing what truly matters.

Grounded is his way to share that mindset — for life, leadership, and anyone trying to grow with more purpose.
